last moments at home

hey all just sitting in the airport waiting to take off to seattle, and i must say now that although i am so happy to go see my family there i really just wish i could stay home with my mom, dad, brother, and bo doggy! i love them all so much and miss them tons already. anyway on my last night at home i went to capture some of my favorite holiday decorations and what not (i'm only posting the one of the stockings here but check fb for all of them if you care..) anyway after that i looked at bo and then at the snow and i remembered how much i love both of those things and how i won't see either for a long long time! so bo and i went on a snow walk! he's very camera shy so getting a good pic of him without a helper was tricky but i do like the one of him and the house all lit up! hope all is well with you people and what not. catch you on the flip side.

woah it's been a while

oh my lord how long has it been?? way too long and i just got way too busy! anyway moving on since the last post i have finished my first quarter of scu aka love love love!! even though i thought finals were going to kill me, it all went all right and i only hope to continue these four years the same was i did the first quarter! my first show at school was an amazing experience that i will never forget. i was pushed to become the artist i want to be! next audition is a week from this wednesday and i'm getting a petite bit nervous but here's what i'm thinking, if i make it great another show to work on and perform but if not i will have more time to spend with my amazing floor mates who i really do love and am blessed to be around! :)
the holidays have come and gone and i am so happy to have made it though another year of life, love, and traditions. yeah some may think that last one is a little strange, but for my christmas is a celebration of traditions because my mother and i are very intense about the activities that bring our family together, like opening our yearly christmas ornament on christmas eve and reading the night before christmas as a family. but this yeah my oldest brother had to work at his restaurant all night and didn't end up getting home until 12:30 am. it was hard to go to bed without him there, but as i am learning lately letting your family go onto the next steps in their life is hard but we must do it eventually. :(
so my favorite place on earth is disney (alright maybe not all time fav, but i do love it and take inspiration from walt into my life all the time) my cousin slash best friend rachel and i went to disneyland (my first time ever) this thanksgiving and it was everything i ever hoped it would be, and i am a disneyworld lover so that's saying a bit about the magic of disneyland. anyway they always have a theme for the year, kind of a resolution i guess. i don't think i will have a real resolution, but i'm thinking a disney style theme. so here it is: the year of a billion moments. yeah i totally stole the name from disney's year of a million dreams, my personal favorite theme. anyway i hope that i can work on the next year through different moments that can create a life. i'll keep you updated i guess on how these moments are working out. my brother gave me a beautiful leather bound journal for christmas that i am hoping to use routinely. because i have always had journals or sketch books and whatnot but i have never used them fully to the last page, and i am going to use this one to the last page. it's the 2010 book of kelly!
alright and finally...i just checked into my 3:05 flight on southwest at exactly 3:05 and my position is A 46! what's the deal who is checking in before that??
also here are some pics from recent events (first, my across the hall neighbors sammy and courtney, love them courtney and i are living together next year at our dream apartment, second, me my dad and my cousin rachel at disneyland

kicked this cold

hey all, so i have been sick this whole week, but on friday i was determined to get well, and i did! i stayed in bed from the end of classes (12) until i had rehearsal at 7, and now that pesky bug is gone. :) i am so happy to no longer be a part of that group of people that walks around campus sniffling and coughing while all the other people are scared of getting sick (well i guess i'm in the scared group again...) alright well moving on. rehearsals for the show are going fabulously. i am playing the part of joan of arc (and some others) but i am so happy to be given this opportunity my first quarter here. i am surrounded by tons of talented people in the show, and even more supportive people on my floor :). speaking of the floor, last night (my one night off this week) three girls and i went out on the town for dinner and shopping. we ate at this pub/restaurant names rosie's, and although we would have preferred the delicious italian place, the wait was far too long. but do not be fooled rosie's was very good, we all wanted pasta dishes, and we all got them!! after dinner we went to anthopologie and urban outfitters, you know, quality stores. and ended the night with a treat from cara's cupcakes, yeah google it they are the best. (the pic is right outside the store) well i'm off to work on homework. bleh

don't forget to harvest your strawberries

alright people, tell me if you relate. you know someone who is totally enthralled in an online video game? (yeah most people do) but wait, here's the catch that person is getting your whole floor hooked on this game? alright maybe not so relatable, but let me tell you farmville has taken over floor ten of swig, and it hasn't been taken over just by people who have a farmville, but also by those that that don't and always have something to say about it (aka me). i don't understand the game so therefor i don't play, simple, but it is still an interesting proposition to listen to others talk about it. but that's all for that. ps this pic is of a paper farmville the girls on the floor and i made on the door of my across the wall neighbors (one is a farmer and the other is not. note the "no farmville zone" sign)

here we go!

i've wanted to start a blog for a while now, and i was thinking, "what better time than now?" i am at the beginning of the new adventure that is college! so yeah why not, i've got new hair, a new bed, and why not a new outlet?!? here i am sitting on my new bedspread which i love (pottery barn is where it's at) and looking out my window on to my beautiful california campus (check the pic out!), this week has been crazy! i started rehearsals for the first show of the year, which i was cast in!! aaahh who would have thought that i would get in the first show! it was so exciting to see my name up on the call back list, not to mention the cast list! i am also undertaking the new task of writing letters, at least one a day to anyone i know, well maybe not that many yet, come on that would be a lot of postage! oh yeah back to the show. it's an ensemble based show where we all work together and work through movement. eeekkk my fav! the past summers have been the biggest learning experiences of my life, and now to be able to apply that knowledge to what feels like a real show...i don't even know how to explain my joy! okay so i'm gonna go for now, but i hope you keep reading because i am officially hooked after just one post!
